Butterflies and Bunnies

We tried to go to the Butterflies in the Garden exhibit at the Botanic Gardens on Saturday with Justin, but they were sold out for the day (even though we had already paid for our tickets with groupon).  We took a few pictures walking around the gardens though, and enjoyed looking at the orchids in their orchid sale and show inside the building.

Then I went back and got to actually see the butterfly exhibit with my friend Christine on Monday.  Here are some pictures from that trip (thanks to Christine for these - she is a great photographer)

We are looking at a whole bunch of turtles sunbathing.

Parker - isn't he a cutie!

And now for my pictures from the exhibit.

He was mesmerized - by the waterfall I think, not the butterflies yet.  This is right when you first walk in.

There were a lot of these feeders with Owl butterflies (sleeping - they wouldn't move at all - I guess that is where the name comes from, they must be nocturnal).

Wyatt and Parker checking out the plants and butterflies.
Today we went up to the Watauga Public library where they had bunnies!  Wyatt had so much fun petting the sweet bunnies.  He was really sweet with them too.  Towards the end of our second time in he kept trying to pick up the bunnies and put them in his lap (he was copying me because I would pick them up and put them in his lap).  The kids weren't supposed to pick them up though (for obvious reasons).

Mrs. Christine and Parker petting the bunny.

After we came out the first time he was trying to pet them through the fence.  So cute.  We went back in for a second visit.  Good thing we did it then too - a few minutes after we headed into the library the crowd increased and there was quite a line.
